How-To: Removing Your Dip Powder Manicure

Learn how to remove your dip powder manicure, at-home, in as little as 20 minutes with step-by-step instructions.


What you'll need:

  • 100% Pure Acetone
  • Nail File
  • Nail Buffer
  • Cuticle Pusher
  • Cotton Balls
  • Foil Wraps

Step 1: File & Buff

Begin by gently buffing and filing your entire nail, removing the first layer of dip powder, so there is no shine.

Step 2: Apply the Acetone

Soak a cotton ball in acetone. Then, tightly wrap the soaked cotton ball around your entire nail, securing with a foil wrap. Allow 10-15 minutes for the acetone to begin working.

Step 3: Remove the Foil

Next, press down firmly on your nail, and quickly pull the foil and cotton ball off. Using the contoured side of the cuticle pusher, and the file & buffer to gently remove any excess powder. 

Wipe clean with a paper towel, and wash your hands to remove any excess acetone on your nail beds. Follow-up with your favorite cuticle oil to remoisturizer and rehydrate your natural nail bed.
